HOH!Me Alone - Don't take plants on holiday? No problem!

With the heat and the summer holidays approaching, keeping plants indoors may be more challenging than usual. And we certainly don't want to have thoughts on our mind or nasty surprises when we return.

Yet, having lots of plants at home, especially in summer, turns out to be a great advantage forpurifying the environment and reducing high temperatures .. which we certainly cannot deprive ourselves of!

But how can we take care of our plants and greenery during this period?

When it comes to plant paintings, our advice is to remove them from the wall before leaving and wet them thoroughly . If possible, leave the plant paintings in the least hot and dry room of the house.

Usually the bathroom turns out to be the most suitable room, due to its high level of humidity : an ideal habitat especially for tropical plants.

Also be careful not to leave them completely in the dark . When you close the house, make sure that some light filters from the room where you decide to place your plants. Without exaggerating with direct sunlight!

If you manage to crowd the chosen room with the HOH! and many other plants, even better!

In fact, in addition to keeping each other company by having a chat , the plants in groups manage to transpire the water vapor through the leaves, becoming real natural humidifiers, useful for not wasting humidity .

Another trick to keep the humidity level high in the room is to place containers with water near the plants in order to increase the humidity level in the room!

Finally, when you return from your holidays, check that the sphagnum moss in the plant frameworks is still damp. If it is dry, place the painting in the sink or in the shower, remove the lid and pour half a liter of water. After an hour, or in any case once the water is completely absorbed, pour more until it is completely absorbed. Before hanging the picture again, remember to let the excess water out of the side slits !

The reason for this procedure is that sphagnum moss behaves like a sponge. When completely dry, it refuses water.

Fortunately, the natural substrate present in the HOH! plant paintings has a high water retention with a strong absorbent power (up to 20 times its weight) and therefore does not require numerous waterings and is able to retain humidity for long periods compared to other substrates!

And if you really don't trust these increasingly hot summers and at the same time you don't want to deprive yourself of plants at home, try creating compositions with highly resistant plants such as pothos , chamaedorea , scandens , chlorophytum or dracaena .
